Commit should be a place where people can create, disagree, and collaborate without losing their dignity or control over their work.

Create with care

Critique the work without attacking the person. Preserve attribution, distinguish your contribution from the original, and respect an artist’s stated boundaries. Ask before adapting work unless a valid permission already covers your intended use.

What is not allowed

• Threats, targeted harassment, hateful abuse, exploitation, or sexual content involving minors.
• Stolen work, deceptive attribution, impersonation, scams, or fabricated provenance.
• Private personal information or intimate material shared without permission.
• Malicious files, spam, attempts to break into accounts, or evasion of restrictions.

Artistic context matters, but it does not excuse harm or remove someone else’s rights.

Report a concern

Members can use Report Work or the comment-report control. Anyone, including someone without an account, can use Contact & requests. Include the relevant link or work title, a short description, and the action you are requesting. Do not redistribute harmful material or include unnecessary sensitive information.

For a copyright concern, identify your original work, the material you are reporting, your relationship to the rights holder, and a way to contact you. Attribution corrections and removal requests are welcome through the same public route.

How reports are handled

Reports are assessed by a person for context, urgency, and supporting information. Possible outcomes include requesting more information, correcting attribution, limiting visibility, removing content, restricting access, or taking no action. A report does not automatically establish a violation.

Reports are not posted publicly. Information may need to be shared with a service provider, a relevant authority, or a person involved to handle the case. We limit this to what is necessary and avoid disclosing reporter details unnecessarily.

Ask for another review

If you think a moderation decision is mistaken, use Contact & requests, choose Appeal, and include the decision reference, your reasons, and relevant new context. Review may be carried out by the same operator during the founding stage; an independent appeals team is not currently promised.

Urgent situations

Commit is not an emergency service and does not provide continuous monitoring. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency service. Response targets for non-emergency reports will be published once staffing is confirmed.

A route outside the atelier

You do not need atelier access to prepare a privacy request, safety report, copyright concern, or appeal. Visit Contact & requests.
